Skip Black Friday: Shop Sustainably with Circular Monday Offers

Finland has long been a global leader in the circular economy, with numerous second-hand stores and recycling centers offering pre-owned products. People of all ages enjoy shopping for second-hand items. Many Finnish companies are also deeply committed to environmental sustainability, inspiring us to join the Circular Monday Movement and become part of this eco-conscious community.

Upcycle with Jing has made an important shift in our approach to sales and sustainability. Starting this year, we will no longer offer the traditional Black Friday deals. Instead, we are launching the Circular Monday Movement this November, an initiative that aligns perfectly with our values and mission.

Circular Monday Movement

What is Circular Monday?

Circular Monday is the Monday before Black Friday( November 25th this year), dedicated to promoting sustainable consumption and reducing waste. The focus is on reusing materials, repairing products, and supporting businesses that contribute to a circular economy. This movement encourages conscious shopping that minimizes environmental impact.

Circular Monday began in 2017 in Malmö, Sweden, initiated by the circular clothing repair start-up Repamera AB and its founder, Henning Gillberg. Originally known as White Monday from 2017 to 2019, it played “the opposite game” with Black Friday and aimed to create a day dedicated to promoting circular consumption. The name was changed to Circular Monday in 2020 to better convey the movement’s message.

Since September 2023, the climate tech start-up ClimateHero has taken on the responsibility of organizing the campaign on a global scale, continuing to develop and expand its reach.
